The idea to launch Dolce & Gabbana’s customization tool first came with the idea to start personalizing the brand’s sneakers in store.
The #DGSneakers were already a great success as was this new way of buying them. Unfortunately there was one small problem: the artisans who created these special pieces could not travel to every store throughout the world so to offer the service to a global market the brand decided to launch this online tool.
It was not a simple task for Frank Studio. Instead of just choosing a different color or adding initials to products, like most of the other online customization tools, our job was to create an easy and intuitive way for the customer to decorate a simple white pair of sneakers in many ways including patches and handwriting.

Together with The Level Group, who manages Dolce & Gabbana’s e-commerce, we developed every phase of the project to deliver the very efficient mobile-oriented #DGYourself tool. Frank Studio also created a video campaign, that was published on the brand’s e-shop and on social media channels.
The huge success of this tool also gave us the opportunity to extend it to include the brand’s loafers and its most iconic bag, the “Sicily”.
